Patrolman Arthur Dematte
End of Watch: October 12th 1976
Officer Arthur Dematte was shot and killed in the line of duty while attempting to remove a transient from the New Haven Railroad tracks.
The suspect was able to gain control of Officer Dematte’s service weapon which he then used against him.
The man was convicted of murder and sentenced to 25 years to life February 2, 1978.
Officer DeMatte had served Larchmont Village for 20 years.
He is survived by his wife and four children.

Or for teaching us by your example
The value of hard work, good judgment,
courage and integrity?

If we have forgotten to show our
gratitude enough for the things you did,

Captain Thomas J. Sullivan started his career in law enforcement in 1986 as an NYPD police officer.
He quickly became known as a man with a code: peace, justice, and loyalty to
those he served and served with.
In August of 1992 Captain Sullivan was hired by the Larchmont Police Department. He was quickly promoted to Sergeant by 1996 and then Lieutenant in 2001. Not long after did he assume the title of Captain and began his career as the department’s Executive Officer.
Captain Sullivan remained focused on community policing by becoming an ever present figure known throughout the Larchmont Community.
He was known for his quick wit and infectious sense of humor.
On May 1st, 2012 Captain Sullivan died while trying to save his family from a house fire. After rousing his son Thomas Jr and guiding him to safety he went deeper into the home to try and save the rest of his family. Captain Sullivan, Donna, Meaghan, and Mairead did not make it out of the house.
He was loved by many and will never be forgotten.

Captain Michael Garcia

Captain Garcia served on The Village of Larchmont Police Force for 37 years and attained the rank of captain in 1987, in which he proudly served until his retirement in 2002. He was a member of the Columbia Police Association and the Westchester Co. Detectives’ Association.
Patrolman John Roberts
End of Watch: December 23rd 2008
In 1975 Patrolman John “JR” Roberts joined the Larchmont Police Department where he spent almost 30 years as an officer before retiring in 2004.
Patrolman Anthony Capasso

Sergeant Walter Verdick
End of Watch: March 25th 2014
Sergeant Verdick served in the Army Air Corps during World War II in the Pacific as an airplane mechanic.
After the service he moved to Larchmont, N.Y, where he was employed with Sichorski Aeronautics.
He later became a motorcycle police officer, retiring as Sergeant with 25 years of service.
Sergeant Frank Stilo
End of Watch: April 1st 2014
Sergeant Stilo served in the Army during the Korean War. In 1964, Frank became a Patrolman for The Village of the Larchmont Police Department. During his tenure here he attained the rank of Sergeant. Frank was very active in the Youth Program and was instrumental in starting the D.A.R.E. Program.
He was also a past president of the PBA.
Detective Ralph Santoliquido
End of Watch: July 15th 2015
Detective Santoliquido, the organizer of our Association, served in the 82nd Airborne Division
Infantry-Medical Corpsman from 1951 to 1953. He became a Patrolman for The Village of Larchmont Police Department in 1956 and was later promoted to detective in 1976. After leaving the police force he was head of security in Larchmont’s beloved Manor Park.
